We’re searching for an experienced Head of Food & Beverage to take ownership of a significant, complex multi-site hospitality operation in Auckland. This isn’t a role for someone who has managed one great restaurant or one busy bar. We’re looking for a genuine multi-site hospitality operator who understands how different F&B businesses work together — from high-volume bars and restaurants through to cafés, catering and major events.
You’ll lead a sizeable operation, with 4–6 direct reports and 70+ people across the wider F&B team, while taking responsibility for an operation generating multi million dollar revenue. This is a senior role where commercial performance and customer experience go hand-in-hand. You’ll be responsible for driving the overall F&B strategy while working across multiple outlets, concepts and revenue streams. You’ll look at what’s working, what could work better and where the next commercial opportunity sits.
Expect to be involved in everything from:
- Leading multi-site bar, restaurant, café and catering operations
- Developing and delivering the overall Food & Beverage strategy
- Growing revenue, margins and spend per head
- Improving speed of service and the overall customer experience
- Identifying new concepts, revenue streams and commercial opportunities
- Leading, mentoring and developing a large and diverse hospitality team
- Managing budgets, forecasting and financial performance
- Managing suppliers, contractors and external catering relationships
- Negotiating commercial agreements
- Driving inventory management, stock control and waste reduction
- Reviewing systems, processes and operational efficiencies
- Working across major events and high-volume hospitality environments
- We want a hospitality person first and foremost.
- Someone who understands the buzz of a busy service, but who can also step away from the floor and look at the bigger commercial picture.
- Ideally, your background will include genuine multi-site management experience across a combination of bars, restaurants, cafés and catering.
- Large-scale venues, events, convention, entertainment or similarly complex hospitality operations would certainly get our attention.
- You’ll need to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, proven people leadership and experience managing budgets, growing revenue and delivering financial targets
- Most importantly, you’ll know how to lead leaders.
This is a chance to influence strategy, people, customer experience and commercial performance across a diverse Auckland hospitality operation.
No sponsorship is available for this position.
Applicants must already have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
Think multi-site. Think high volume. Think commercial. Think hospitality.
Time to get BUZZing.
