Job Description

With a new building and customer experience under development, we've been BUZZed to find a Multi Site Venue Manager, to lead the hospitality team at Earth & Sky, Tekapo! We are looking for an experienced leader within the hospitality industry, who is energetic, motivated and thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment. If you live and breath hospitality and looking for something to get stuck into in 2019...give us a BUZZ!

Ngāi Tahu Tourism hosts more than one million manuhiri (visitors) a year across our thirteen iconic businesses, with a fourteenth, the All Blacks Experience, due to open in 2020.  Earth & Sky has an exciting new build on the way which will include a historic 125-year-old telescope, retail store, impressive restaurant and bar, plus an experience zone there couldn't be a better time to join!

The multi site Venue Manager will oversee the existing Cafe, whilst being instrumental in launching the new Restaurant and Bar. First and for most, you will be responsible for setting the new business up, including recruiting an amazing team, supplier agreements, order of service and training the staff.

Launching this new product will be challenging but very rewarding. You will be responsible for managing the front of house framework, whilst overseeing the kitchen operations. Understanding both parts of the business, especially compliance, H&S & FCP are essential skills we are after. The ability to communicate with a diverse range of customers, suppliers and internal company employees is essential.

Relocation to Tekapo is required. On offer is an amazing salary package, including attractive salary, relocation assistance and many other benefits. Ngāi Tahu's connection to Māori and Ngāi Tahu culture, history and stories is an important part of the experience for our customers so an openness to learning basic te reo and tikanga is a must.
